Let me Introduce myself!

My name is Ainsley and I am a 40 year old wife and a busy working mother of three.

Up until October this year (2020) I was just getting on with the covid situation like everyone else around the world, working full time and running round after three children like I would normally do. I had managed to get through home schooling three children whilst working from home and I was finally happy to be back in the office with my work family.

I will explain in my first few blogs my journey so far, but I have just been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in December, 2020 and I decided to start a blog about how I have got where I am so far and what I discover going forward. I want to document everything including my specialist appointments, procedures and how strange it feels to know I have a chronic illness that cannot be cured but can be controlled with drugs. I also want to share some laughs along the way that I have with my children and husband. I have three children, Jack and Daisy are 8 year old twins and Harriet is my youngest at 7 years old. I have been completely honest about it all with them so they can openly talk about it! Talking about your bowels is the norm, but why not!

This should not be a taboo subject or something to be embarrassed by! This is my reasoning about writing it all down and putting out there on the world wide web for all to see. It is so my children can see you should be able to discuss and talk about any illnesses or issues you have. This blog will hopefully also help my friends and family understand my condition more and so that I do not have to repeat my story all the time. I am learning new things everyday about Crohn’s and I really did not know anything about it before just thought it meant people went to the toilet more!
